ORBS IN HAUNTED ATCHISON, KANSAS

My trip to Atchison in October 2011 resulted in some of the best orb pictures I have ever taken.  We drove around town (with the guidance of a friend who is a resident) while I took random pictures.  Some in sequence seem to show the same orb.  Our first stop was the Sallie House, the time was around 10 pm.  After the Sallie House we drove around Benedictine College (the trolley tour does not go there).

I made one of my friends get out of the car and pose with the house!

It appears that the orb starts at the top of the house and floats down to the ground.

Benedictine College

 Driving away from the college.

After dinner pictures always result in an orb or two.

Big one in the upper right hand corner.

Orbs to the right and it looks like one is on the trunk of the car on the far right.

ORBS IN WASHINGTON D.C.

During a family vacation to our nation's capitol in 2005 I naturally took nearly about 100 photos.  Not surprisingly I did capture a few orbs!  The first were in the Capitol Building in a room that was originally where the Supreme Court met.  We were taken on a tour by one of our Senator's interns.

The next one was the ceiling in the capitol building and the orb is to the right, center.

We also went to Colonial Williamsburg where we attended a one man play about Thomas Jefferson.  Looks like a few spirits went also!

ORBS - CRESCENT HOTEL, EUREKA SPRINGS, ARKANSAS

Over the last few years I have had the opportunity to visit the Crescent Hotel in Eureka Springs.  The Crescent was built in 1886 and for the first 15 years operated as an exclusive year round resort hotel. What it is actually remembered for, however, is it's operation as a cancer hospital that was run by a con man, Norman Baker, who claimed to have a new cure for cancer.  Tragically many people believed it and went to the Crescent for treatment.  Today the hotel has a nightly ghost tour where one can learn the entire story of Mr. Baker and hear stories of the sightings and experiences people have had over the years.  They encourage taking many pictures during the tour because you are more or less guaranteed to get a picture of an orb.

Before I went on the Crescent ghost tour I never thought orbs were real.  I thought they would be too easy to fake so I never thought that much about them.  My sister's position on paranormal photography was even stronger since she worked with photography and publishing.  She had once commented that anything can be done with photographs today and not to believe anything you see in one unless you taken the picture  yourself.  I thought that was good advice.

One spring weekend in 2006 I went to Eureka Springs with my sister Judy and my best friend Brenda where we had made reservations at the Crescent.  We were put in room 313 - which we learned later had a reputation for occasional paranormal phenomena.  After depositing our bags in our room we bought our tickets ($15) for the ghost tour, then enjoyed a drink at the Norman Baker Bar before embarking on our shopping spree downtown.

The ghost tour is very popular and there was a good size crowd for our tour.  We began in the basement area where there is now a spa, although the morgue where the autopsies were performed was further back and probably hasn't changed too much.  As we sat on the basement stairs and listened to the lecture we were told to start taking pictures and we would get orbs.  I didn't believe it, but started taking pictures anyway.  After the first couple of photos I noticed my first orb.  I was really shocked.  The first orbs show up in front of the glass door to the spa and there is a bigger one in front of the sign to the left.

In the second picture the orb in front of the sign has moved to the right and is larger (or maybe it's a different orb) and there are several more further down that look like they are exiting the spa.

It's really impossible to determine how big they actually are because we don't know their distance from the camera. Next we went through a long hallway which led to several storage rooms in the back.  One of which was used for the morgue.

Ghost Hunters have also been to the Crescent Hotel and you can go to their website and watch the episode.  Using their infrared camera Jason and Grant caught a full body apparition in front of an old storage cabinet.  If it's not staged, then it really is impressive.  For more information on this episode go to www.americasmosthauntedhotel.com where you can also see a short video clip of the apparition that was filmed.  As you can see in the picture below, I did not capture anything paranormal.

On the second floor is a room that is said to be haunted by Michael, a stonemason who fell to his death as the Crescent was being built and landed in room 213.  I didn't think I had anything that interesting in the way of orbs when I took several photos of the hallway on the second floor.  What I did not appreciate at the time, however, was that my sister who was also taking pictures of the hallway apparently got a photo of the same two blue orbs that I did.  So much for orbs being dust.  Anyway, we thought that was interesting and then did not think anything of it because the orbs were small and we liked the bigger ones.  We were totally unaware of the controversy surrounding orbs so we had no thought about trying to determine what orbs were or were not.  We were just middle aged women on a weekend trip having fun.  (And fun we had!)  We even made a new friend who also lives in Tulsa and we see from time to time. (We met up with Leslie in Atchison, Kansas and she is in the photo with us and the big orb.  See my post on Atchison, Nov. 11, 2011.)

In this photo are the two small blue orbs on or near the floor on either side of the hallway that my sister and I both took a photo of.  Not a real impressive picture, but it was exciting for us.

Our room, however, seemed to be a little more active.  We heard the story of how some former occupants of room 313 were playing with a ouija board and being loud enough to generate a few complaints to the management.  At one point something happened that scared them so bad they all ran out of the room and would not go back in.  A hotel employee had to retrieve their belongings.  Nothing that scary happened to us, just a couple of odd things.  In the bathroom there is a pedestal sink with a shelf above it for toiletries.  As we were sitting in the bedroom enjoying the wine I brought along we heard a clatter in the bathroom.  Upon inspection I found that my deodorant had fallen from the shelf into the sink.  Weird. I replaced it back on the shelf and it didn't fall again.  Back to my glass of wine that I was about to finish off when we heard a "pop".  The cork that had been placed back in the wine bottle had actually popped out and flown a couple of feet.  I don't know if that was paranormal or not, but that has never happened before or since. If anyone else has ever had a cork pop out of a bottle of wine like that I would like to know.

We had more luck getting pictures of orbs in our room.  In fact I deleted a lot of pictures from my camera and just kept the good ones.  For whatever reason it seemed that I had the best luck getting orb photos whenever my sister was in the picture.  I guess they liked her.

Maybe it was her perfume . . .

By the second evening my sister was getting a little annoyed with me taking her picture every few minutes to see if there were any orbs. The next two are taken while she was trying to watch TV and there was another orb around her that seemed to move slowly as it had changed position in the next picture.  There was at least 15 seconds between the two pictures - I would take a picture then look at it and if there was an orb in it I would immediately take another one.
In this picture the orb is by the pillow.  What looks like what might be a huge fish shaped orb to the left of the bed is actually a weird reflection from the camera.  I found that if I covered up the mirror that would not appear.  In the next photo the orb has moved from the pillow to right above my sister's head.  It is a little fainter so a little harder to see.

My sister hates these pictures.

AN AMAZING GALLERY WITH BRANDIE CHRISMAN

A few weeks ago I took a friend to another gallery given by Brandie Chrisman (see psychic # 2 from last April post).  Christine had been in town to care for her elderly mother who was in declining health and on hospice care.  Chris had also lost her brother suddenly only a month prior to coming to the gallery, so naturally she was hoping to hear from him.  Well, hear from him she did - and her father.  For her $25 she had a little over 20 minute reading.  And as usual Brandie was extremely accurate.

The gallery was held at the same Hampton Inn as before in a small conference room.  There were less than a dozen attending this time which increased the odds of getting a reading.  I had a feeling, however, that Christine's dad would come through as he did for me when I had a reading with the Kansas City medium (see post for medium #3 last October) and my intuition was spot on.

Brandie began the session by explaining how an intuitive medium works and then having us ask questions.  Unfortunately I did not have enough sense to turn my recorder on and I should have because her information was very interesting.  One question I asked her was if she could hear a spirit and she replied that she could not - everything she received was from her "feeling it".  I also asked her if she had ever tried remote viewing and she had not; in fact she didn't know what that was.  (For information on remote viewing go to www.mceagle.com - a website for Joe McMoneagle who worked for the government as a psychic spy.)  I have a feeling that Brandie would be excellent at remote viewing.  Christine asked her if she had ever "seeked knowledge" and I had no idea what she was talking about.  However, Brandie did and stated that she had tried it once and can't remember anything she said.  She said that her mother was present and a couple of other people.  Apparently she must go into a trance and channel someone or something.  I'd really like to know what she said!

Fortunately I remembered to turn my recorder on for the reading!
As usual, Brandie was uncannily accurate.  After transcribing the reading I counted over 40 items that Brandie had mentioned about Christine's father and brother.  When Christine read the transcription she realized that there were a few things where she had responded no that she should have responded yes.  This underscores the importance of always recording any reading you go to!  During a reading you are trying to process one piece of information when you are given another piece of information to process and while you are trying to process everything it is not uncommon for one to have what John Edwards calls "psychic amnesia."  You really can go blank - I've done it.

Here is a condensed version of the reading with just the facts that Brandie gave to Christine:

She felt he had height to him - over six feet.
He had broad shoulders.
He had very long legs.
He was a father or grandfather on the father's side.
He wore jeans.
[This is all correct except for the broad shoulders.  Brandie said
she felt him pulling her shoulders back which is why she felt he must have broad shoulders.  Later Christine thought maybe he was
trying to get across that he was no longer stooped and his back was straight again.]

He was a plain, simple kind of guy.
Works with his hands, he was a mechanic.
Brandie wants to place him outside when he worked with something mechanical.
[He was a mechanic for an airline and was a plain, simple man.  Not sure about working outside but since he worked on planes during WWII he probably did work on some of the planes outside.]

His passing was heart related.
His death was sudden but the illness was not.
He didn't want to talk about it or get it looked at.
He did not want to inconvenience anyone - did not want to upset the momentum.
He had an issue with his lungs as well; a smokers cough; and his cough was bothersome.
He had a very mechanical aspect to him.
He had a natural knowledge and wisdom.
He would stand his ground.
[All true.]

Brandie said he was talking about his other girl and asked if it was Christine's sister, however, since Christine has no sister Brandie said it must be that she and her mom must have been his girls. [Correct]

He had a quite side.
He could communicate when it mattered.
He was a nail bitter.
He had a rigorous background - military.
Took his background in the military with him.
There was a sad side to him that was pretty deep.
Chris was not there when he passed.
His wife was very giving and he felt he did not fully vocalize his appreciation.
There were words left unsaid.
[All of this describes Christine's dad.  He learned how to work on planes in the military and after the war he worked at American Airlines until he retired. He did suffer from depression. Christine confirmed "the words left unsaid" were what she always wished she had said to her father before he went into surgery.]

He really wanted Christine to succeed academically.
He was showing Christine as an academic.  (Chris answered NO to her being "an academic".  He always wanted desperately for her to be more academically inclined and would enroll her in anything extra outside of school he could find.)

He showed Brandie a hospital bracelet.  (Christine's mother was in the hospital at that time.)  Brandie also saw a watch and a ring.  (Christine thought that her mother's watch and ring had been lost at the hospital but fortunately they were found.)

Brandie said that Christine favors her father in demeanor and that
she sizes people up before she lets them in.
[A spot on description of Christine!]

Brandie then mentioned her brother and Christine told her that he had recently passed so Brandie connected to him next.  He began by showing her his last few days although Brandie said he did not want to talk about his cause of death.

She saw her brother as being less focused and not being able to gather his thoughts.
He had a great deal of confusion.
There must have been a blood clot, stroke or some sort of alzhiemers.
She could feel his overwhelming frustration and anxiety.
He physically could not talk.
People were caring for him.
[Everything is correct.  Her brother had open heart bypass surgery a few months prior to his death and he could not recover enough to take care of himself.  Eventually, one day he could not catch his breath and called 911 and when the paramedics got there he went into cardiac arrest and they resuscitated him for six minutes.  At the hospital they put him into an induced coma to help reduce swelling in his brain and put him on a ventilator.  A couple of days later when he was awakened and they tried to wean him off the ventilator he could not tolerate it because his lungs would keep filling up with fluid.  It was then determined that he had lung cancer and he was in no condition to have chemo.  In short, there was nothing left to do for him.  The doctors were not sure how much brain damage there had been from such a long resuscitation. However, he did recognize people and could respond that he understood some things. Sadly, he could not live without the ventilator and his doctors had to let him know there was nothing more they could do for him.  When his breathing tube was removed he passed very quickly.]

Also:
He was Christine's older brother.
When they were younger they got on each other's nerves but as adults they became closer.
He had a sense of humor.
He passed within a month or two.
He was in a nursing facility.
[All of this is correct]

Then Brandie gave Christine's Bob's message, which was that he was no longer in pain and he was up again.  [Christine and Bob's children had worked hard on encouraging Bob to get up and start walking after his surgery.  It was difficult for him to walk so he would rarely get out of his recliner when he was home.  He did not tolerate the post surgery pain well.  I was not surprised that he would want to tell Chris that he was up.]

Christine's father's message was that her brother is not alone "because it is very significant that they are together and they are not alone."
[The one question that Christine had wanted answered was were her father and brother together - that was very important to her. Fortunately she got her answer.]

Then Brandie said "They are wanting to talk to you about you must have been worried that you were the only one left and it must have been causing you some stress . . . they are talking about things needing to be proved to you . . . this is your proof."
[She had been mourning the fact that soon she would be the only one left of her family and she was looking for assurances that there really was something after we leave this life.  I believe she got what she came for!]

UPDATE ON SECOND SESSION WITH BRANDIE CHRISMAN

After my second session with Brandie Chrisman I spoke with a niece and learned a couple of things which additionally validated Brandie's reading in regard to my late niece Kimberly.  Brandie has described a boy who had a disagreement with Kim shortly before she passed.  In a nutshell, Brandie said that in Kim's eyes he was a goodie-goodie, and was still feeling guilt about this disagreement and he needed to put this guilt down. Kim has been gone for over ten years.  Brandie had also said that she had an out of control feeling with Kim and she didn't know if that meant a car was out of control or if her life was out of control.

Kim's sister told me she recently learned of a man who Kim had known and apparently this man (although married with a child now) had asked a mutual friend to pray for Kimberly.  This man had also wanted Kim to go to Florida with him and she would not go because she thought he was "too churchie."  He stated that he wondered what his life would have been like if Kim had gone with him.  I think someone being too "churchie" qualifies them as being a "goodie-goodie."  I also think that a man who is still asking someone to pray for Kim after she has been gone for over ten years is still harboring some intense feelings toward her.  I had assumed that the boy in question that Brandie had discussed was Kim's younger brother, but since learning of this other man I have changed my mind.

When I asked my niece if she knew of any traumatic incident that could have been the cause of Kim's problems with drugs I was astounded to learn that Kim had been molested
by a babysitter when she was about ten.  Kim had surpressed  the memory for two or three years until she happened to flash back to the incident while watching TV with her sister.  Kim started crying and told her sister what had happened to her.  As it turns out, the boy, who was 15 at the time, went to school with Kim's older sister.  Kim was sent to counseling, but the offender was never confronted by her parents so there were never any consequences for him. Brandie had said that Kim needed this traumatic incident to be acknowledged and I can certainly understand why.

In regard to the "out of control" feeling that Brandie had - Kim had been in a truck that she lost control of while driving and she tore down some fencing.  This resulted in a ticket and a substantial fine.  The day the first payment of the fine was due was the day she ended her life.

Another person who had come through at this reading was a great aunt who had raised two sons.  I had no clue who this was.  Brandie said she felt this woman was rather head strong.
After a little research I determined that this was my great aunt Margaret Elizabeth Nash, who had raised two sons and divorced her husband in 1932 at the age of 61.

Once again Brandie was unbelievably accurate.

SECOND SESSION WITH MEDIUM BRANDIE CHRISMAN

Before this session I took advice I had been given previously and asked those who I wanted to come through to please try to come through strong.  I actually invited ALL my departed family members to show up and gave an open invitation to whoever would like to come.  It's probably better to be a little more specific about who you invite . . . .  One of the first things Brandie said was that there were quite a few who had shown up for this reading, which as it turned included a couple of souls I had no idea who they could be.  Brandie also said at one point during the reading that it was like my family was lined up to come through.  So I guess I should watch out what I ask for!

First to come through was a woman who Brandie thought was a grandmother, whose hair was pulled back in a bun and was wearing very dated clothing.  This woman had a strong personality, Brandie could feel strength and sterness and this woman was really into discipline.  In fact she corrected Brandie and said aunt and Brandie thought she could even be a great aunt. She wanted to talk about her figure - or rather lack of one.  She appeared as a very busty, full figured woman and she mentioned her feet and Brandie said they felt like orthopedic shoes and her hose looked like compression hose and maybe there was a diabetic connection.  Brandie felt she was bringing up the diabetes or sugar connection.  She said she loves sweets and everyone would have known that she loved sweets or maybe she made them.  She made Brandie aware of two sons that she raised.  She was married and could be a difficult woman, she was hard headed and she was going to do everything her way.  She is showing Brandie the graying in her hair and Brandie felt a teacher connection, either she was one or wanted to be one.  She was showing Brandie different aspects of a classroom.           [This sounds so much like two of my aunts - except for the part of raising two sons because she had no children.  My Aunt Iva, a teacher, was the oldest of seven children and as the oldest helped raise the younger children and she had two brothers which may be what Brandie saw.  I'm not sure about the diabetes, however, one of her sisters Alma did have diabetes and in fact had so much trouble with her feet that eventually she had one leg amputated. She also had a strong personality and since there were teachers in her family and her father was on the school board I wouldn't be surprised if at one time she wanted to be a teacher.]

The next person who came through was a military man. Brandie felt he had gotten his "wings" or something like that.  She had the feeling of WWII or Korean War and said it had the feeling of an old fashion black and white photo.  She did not feel an immediate connection with him, more reaching out like an uncle.  Then she was corrected, this was a friend of my father's or mothers.  He told her that he was close enough that he would have been more uncle like. She asked if my father was military [he was not] then this is someone my father was close to, friends when they were young and this man went off to war.  He did come home from the war and she said when he returned there were aspects of him that disappeared, or were harder to access.  He was changed, he was not as lively after the war.  She said he gives the sense he is a free spirited, spontaneous person and there was something about his eyes, he may have had a problem with them.  Brandie said that my father and this man are still pals on the other side, the friendship is still there.  She said it was almost like they were drinking buddies.  I was dumbfounded.  I knew who this was and I would have never expected him to come through.  I'm not sure I even met him since he lived over 1,000 miles away from us, but I knew enough about him from my father

[This is Charlie Henderson, one of my father's life long friends from college who was a commander in the Navy during WWII. The wings she saw were probably the three commander stripes on his uniform.  It's interesting that she would feel the black and white photo because when my father's group of friends were in college they got together and had a portrait made of them.  A few years after college they all had another photo taken - Charlie was in his uniform and everyone was in the same order.  They had one more portrait taken when they were reunited for their 50th college class reunion, and of course everyone was in the same order. These photos were published in a Baton Rouge, Louisiana newspaper when an article was written on their over 50 year friendship. I don't know about any problems with his eyes.  About Charlie being changed after the war: in the article another of Charlie's friends mentioned that when Charlie came home from the Pacific his hair had turn white, but later turned back to brown.  I don't know if this was meant literally or figuratively, but it does insinuate a change in Charlie.  And about my father and Charlie being drinking buddies they sure were!  In the same newspaper article they mention their fondness for corn whiskey.]

My great-grandfather  [William McKendree - (Mack)]  on my mother's side was next and he definitely is one of the last souls I would expect to hear from.  Brandie  sensed a grandfather or uncle who was a heavy alcoholic.  She felt he was a generation up from my parents.  Mack wanted to tell Brandie how he felt because he had a lot of burdens. (Brandie stated that she almost felt like a psychologist, that he just wanted to sit down and tell her how he feels.)  He told her he felt like he couldn't give enough or provide enough to his family.  She said he felt immense pressure to make things happen and he did not want to give Brandie any details.  There was a period of time that he was drinking where he was really snappy and harsh with his words, not a lovey-dovey type of guy.  Brandie felt there was a physical side to him and he let Brandie know that yes he was abusive. Mack told her he was not proud of it, he is owning it and Brandie felt that is why he was coming through.  He could be abusive with the children and particularly with his spouse.  Mack claimed alcoholism was handed down from his father and Brandie thought that either my grandfather or father broke the chain of alcoholism.  Brandie saw that Mack had two brothers or was one of two and that one brother was particularly successful.  It was like Mack was comparing himself to this brother who was successful and had it together and he felt he couldn't live up to his brother.

[According to family lore, Mack was a mean drunk.  One cousin wrote that three of my aunts "historicize the old reprobate was a drinker.  They report that when Granpa's kids heard his buggy race into the yard late at night with Granpa layin' on the leather and whipping the horses they knew the old fart was tanked up and mean drunk . . . his children all dived for cover and hid out till the alcohol wore off."  He was also a Methodist minister which may be why I never thought of him as an alcoholic. Actually, I just never thought of him that much!  My grandmother and two of her sisters I know of hated him because of how he treated their mother.  Mack suffered from a rare condition called  polyorchidism - basically he had three testicles.  Too much testosterone and alcohol can make one nasty man.

Mack's first wife had nine children before she died.  Then a very, very, very short time after her death he married my great-grandmother who was half his age (he was 40 and she was 19) and that poor woman had nine children also.  About Mack not wanting to go into detail - no wonder because he was reprimanded at a Methodist Church Conference for  1. "... the indulgence of sinful tempers and the use of improper language at Minter's Chapel on or about the first of Sept. 1874; and 2. "trying to have carnal communication of his daughter in law" (ewwww!)  He was later absolved of this (but I bet it was true), however, it must have caused him considerable stress and embarrassment.   Also stressful and embarrassing was the fact that his two youngest single daughters became pregnant on the same weekend and were not married until they were about six months along. (My grandmother and her sister had a party in the barn one night.)

The successful brother he mentioned I knew nothing about until with the help of a cousin and the 1900 U.S. Census I discovered that one of his two brothers was a physician.  It sounds like Mack was a little jealous of him and his higher income and status.]

Then to my surprise my niece Kimberly came through.  Brandie saw a young female between 17 and 21 and she asked me if I knew a Julie [I said no]  or someone with a strong Ju name who would have lost a daughter.  [Yes - Kim's mother was Judy.]  Brandie thought Kim was a little timid and she definitely felt like she was at the end of high school or beginning of college when she passed.  [Kim was 17.]  She thought the girl had a very sweet personality and felt a lot of innocence about her.  Brandie had to work with Kim to make her more comfortable and gain her trust.  She saw that Kim's death was unexpected, that she had not been ill, but she did feel out of control - either emotionally or she was driving a car that went out of control. [Kim did have a drug problem and shortly before her death she was drivng a car that went out of control.]

Then Brandie said Kim was taking responsibility for the way she passed.  I acknowledged that Kim was a suicide and Brandie said that was probably why Kim hesitated to warm up to her.  That maybe it was embarrassment she was feeling from her and not innocence. Brandie felt that Kim was bringing up a fight with a boyfriend or a boy, around the time of her death, a boy close to her age, a friend or a brother.  [At the time of the reading I thought it was her brother but later learned from a niece that it was a boyfriend.]  Brandie felt like Kim was the opposite of this boy, almost like he was a goodie goodie; "she made chaos and he didn't." [True]  There were times when they were close but there was a fight within a few weeks right before she passed, and he carries this guilt with him. Brandie said "she's saying it was me, not you."  Kim was showing her the boy feeling guilty and saying that he needs to set down this burden. [According to another niece, even after ten years Kim's boyfriend is still asking people who knew Kim to pray for her.]

Brandie felt that Kim could be sharp with her words, especially toward her mother.  She would get angry a lot and would blame her mother for a lot of things.  She feels the need to say that there was a lot of internal conflict, a lot of little things set her off.  Also, she really worried about what other people thought about her even if she didn't give that impression.  She told Brandie that "I blamed everybody else and I shouldn't have."  There was something that triggered all of this attitude, a particular incident and she needs them to acknowledge this.  Brandie wondered if it was abuse from in or outside the family because something traumatic triggered this and Kim needed this to be recognized.  But Brandie also said that Kim might not have told anyone or if she did tell she was just told it would be o.k.  Brandie asked me a couple of times if her parents were divorced [no].

I did not know until I talked with Kim's older sister about the reading what the "particular incident" was that Brandy referred to.  Apparently quite a few months after the incident, Kim suddenly confided in her sister that a male babysitter had sexually abused her. My sister and her husband - who were very non confrontational, meek people, didn't file a police report or do anything about the abuse.  Eventually Kim did get therapy for behavior problems and not surprisingly drug abuse.]

Brandie felt a lot of self hatred from Kim, like she felt she was not worthy, and felt the need to address why she was that way.  Then Kim showed Brandie an image of a mother and daughter and said her favorite times were sitting in her mother's lap with her stroking her hair.  She told Brandie that it all seemed so simple then and knows her mother was a good mother; she remembers the good times and she recognizes the pain that she caused.  Brandie was shown an image of her with her daughter and didn't know if it meant that Kim had long blond hair.  [She did have long blond hair.]

Brandie told me that hearing names was something new to her and so far usually gets just a few letters.  I thought she was very close with Julie and hearing the strong Ju name.  Mediums I see on television usually just give one letter.  The only exceptions I have seen are Kim Russo and John Edwards.
